RESEARCH


Dr. Shalabi’s main research interest focuses on community engagement in higher education, especially through service-learning pedagogy which is a form of experiential learning that aims to connect classroom instruction with practical application through establishing partnerships between educational institutions and community-based organizations.
Her second research interest focuses on inclusive education to cultivate learning environments that acknowledge, welcome, and celebrate learners from diverse demographic and ability backgrounds. Dr. Shalabi disseminates her research in peer-reviewed academic journals and presentations at regional and international conferences.
